The Smart Grid Lab scientific group of the Department of Robotics, Electric Power Engineering and Automation named after Prof. B.B. Samotokin was created to support science-intensive ideas, innovations, development of practical skills and exchange of knowledge in the specialty G3 "Electrical Engineering".

The activities of the Smart Grid Lab are aimed at developing the abilities and creative potential of participants, deepening theoretical knowledge and improving the skills acquired during training, in particular independent work. The participants of the group practice various forms of cooperation, brainstorming, work individually and in groups to solve practical problems, using modern equipment and tools to implement elements of smart distributed electrical networks. The activities of the group are coordinated with the interests of stakeholders, whose equipment is provided for the creation of prototypes and research of developments, in particular for further activities in the format of startups.

The group also contributes to improving the quality of scientific research conducted at the department, as well as attracting higher education students to participate in scientific seminars, conferences, trainings, and other activities.
