From Trauma to Transformation: Building Resilient Minds, Systems, and Society

On May 25, 2026, Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University will host the international conference “Resilient Ukraine: Building a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Ecosystem for Crisis, Recovery, and the Future.”

The conference will serve as a high-level international platform bringing together policymakers, academics, healthcare professionals, rehabilitation specialists, international organizations, educators, researchers, and strategic partners from Ukraine and abroad.

The event is dedicated to developing a coordinated, evidence-based, and accessible ecosystem of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in Ukraine, capable of strengthening societal resilience amid war, recovery, and future challenges.

The conference agenda will address key interdisciplinary areas, including:

• integrated mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) systems;
• trauma-informed approaches and human capital development;
• adaptive sport and veteran reintegration;
• medical rehabilitation, assistive technologies, and prosthetics innovation;
• accessibility, digital inclusion, and equitable access to services.

We will focus on moving from fragmented interventions to integrated, scalable support systems, strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration, and adapting international experience to the Ukrainian recovery context.

Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University brings research, innovation, clinical practice, and social engagement together to advance human-centered approaches, strengthen human capital, and support resilient communities.

The program will feature plenary sessions, expert-led discussions, thematic panels, practical workshops, and networking opportunities to foster long-term partnerships and launch joint international initiatives.

The conference is being organized with Ukrainian and international partners and will position Ukraine as a global reference case in MHPSS, inclusive recovery, and innovative resilience-centered systems.
